Hello Everyone!
Finally this weekend is Starbeast Motorsports and Narain Karthikeyan´s NASCAR debut. We are racing in Martinsville Staturday March 27 in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Starbeast Motorsports has partnered with Wyler Racing to do Selected NASCAR Truck events with NK as a driver.
What does this mean?
Well, it means that from a business standpoint we decided to partner with a established NASCAR race team instead of starting from scratch ourselves. Starbeast Motorsports does not own or participates in Wyler Racing and is not the case viceversa. Our goal is to reach to the NASCAR Sprint Cup level, and we want to make that as soon as possible. If our intention is to use the NASCAR Truck Series as development for NK and Starbeast Motorsports, then it did not made sense for us to develop trucks from scratch. We better invest those efforts in developing the Cup equipment in the near future.
Narain tested for the first time yesterday the No. 60 Truck. It was a historic day, because is the first time an Indian driver has driven a NASCAR race car or truck. We struggled a little bit at the beginning of the day, but then NK progressed really well and we got to the target time that was set prior to the test.
I want to approach this race just as more seat time for Narain. It is just where Narain makes this a real and useful learning experience more than a competition. It is very difficult for a driver to understand this, it is very hard to make a driver like Narain step back for a while so it can progress faster in the future. And is so hard because drivers are so competitive that they just can not understand that a goal in a race is to just finish the race, regardless of the result, they of course want to finish the race, but they want to finish that race first than any other driver.
All of us want to win, there is no doubt about it. NK and Starbeast Motorsports are HUNGRY to win and achieve good results, but the truth is being new in NASCAR, Narain needs to unlearn a lot of things and learn pretty fast new ones. It is not just that the cars are much heavier here, it is of course also that you have to drive them totally different.
Im getting the butterflies now and I am not even driving ! But this is what is all about, passion and excitement. We are definetly passionate and very excited to make this dream come true. We will do our best.

The NASCAR debut is in Martinsville on Saturday March 27 at 1.30 ET on Speed Channel.
